We are preparing for a music festival for young women ages 12-25 who love to sing in our surrounding communities. This festival will help teach young singers about the barbershop harmony artform which is one of the few true American artforms and was started right here in Oklahoma!

Competition

Competition is a major and fun part of the barbershop world that helps keep us focused on raising the bar of performing excellence. We come together in a spirit of lighthearted contest, to see who's really got top form. We root for each other, cheer each other on, and once the medals have been handed out, we sing and party into the night!

 

Regional

Every year, in March or April, the Sooner Sensations Show Chorus makes the trip to Richardson, TX to compete in our regional contest. Dozens of choruses and quartets come together to sing and compete. There are a number of judging categories, and the groups bring complete and entertaining packages. If you're anywhere near Richardson, TX in the spring, please come be a part of the fun! Fortunately, due to some redistricting in the next few years, Region 25 competitions will be moved closer to the OKC/Tulsa area. We are very excited about the move and hope that this will draw more interest and participation in our area. If you are unable to attend, you can watch these competitions via live webcast. International

Sometime in the fall the winners of all regional contests -- and a few "wildcards" -- gather together at International competition. In the next few years, International competition will be held in Denver, CO (2012), Hawaii (2013), Baltimore, MD (2014), and Las Vegas, NV (2015-2018). You can view completions on a live webcast on the Sweet Adelines International website. This is the ultimate female barbershop competition -- not to be missed!
